So, as you may have seen if you’ve been down to the moor in the past couple of days, the authorities managed to regain control of the building. This was due to the shutters being left slightly open, a direct result of police interference which meant numbers in the building were low and it was very difficult to stay fully stationed. So our first building has come to a close, but we’ve done some pretty amazing stuff with the place (photos to be uploaded shortly) and it’s been a pretty amazing journey from convergence centre for direct action protest groups, to art and culture space for people from a much broader walk.

And not to fear, people of Sheffield, we will be up and running in our new location in a matter of days/week.

This Sunday (20th March) the 0742 club is holding it’s first ever poetry event; at 12pm midday there will be a spoken word session, with local poets and individuals reading and showcasing their walk, poetry readings of people favourite poems, collective writing works, and just general poetry related fun. Bring a marker pen and you poetry can become a timeless piece of art on the walls of the 0742.
